1. Purpose

These terms govern the use of the Derail Party game (on the web, and later on Steam and mobile), published by [to fill in: publisher] ("we"). Creating an account or playing means accepting them. Purchases are also governed by the terms of sale.

2. Account

• Playing needs a free account. You must be at least [minimum age]; under [15], with a parent's consent.
• An account is personal. You are responsible for what happens on it: keep your password to yourself, turn on two-factor authentication if you wish.
• Driver names must not impersonate anyone, nor be insulting, hateful, sexual or promotional.

3. Behaviour

Forbidden: cheating (third-party software, exploiting bugs, automation), harassment, insults, hateful, discriminatory or sexual content, sharing other people's personal information, spam, selling or trading accounts, and anything harming the service.

Chat is for friends only. You can block a player and report them; a report keeps their last messages so we can check.

4. Sanctions

If these terms are broken we may, depending on how serious it is: warn, remove a name, restrict chat, reset scores obtained by cheating, suspend or close the account. Virtual items of an account closed for a serious breach are not refunded.

5. Virtual content and in-game currencies

• Gold is earned by playing; diamonds are earned by playing too and will be sold. They can only be used in the game, have no monetary value, cannot be converted into money or traded between players, and are not refundable, except as provided by the terms of sale or by law.
• Skins, effects, upgrades, cards, chests and the pass are licences to use them in the game, not goods you own.
• Some upgrades give an advantage in games (growth, boost, vision, pickup, bonus duration). Their effect is shown before buying.
• Chests hold random content. They are only earned by playing, never sold for money; what they can hold is shown in the game.
• We may rebalance the game (gold prices, effects, rewards). What was bought remains yours.

6. Availability

The service is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it available, but it may be interrupted (maintenance, outage, update). Should the game close for good, we would give at least [to fill in: e.g. 30 days] notice.

7. Your data

See the privacy policy. You can export your data and delete your account at any time from the settings.

8. Changes

These terms may change; for any important change, you will be told in the game before it applies.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first; failing that, the competent courts are those provided by law (for a consumer, notably those of their home).
