Nothing to do: with Steam running, the game signs you in with your Steam account automatically. Your account is created the first time.

In the game, open Settings → Sign-in and security → Linked accounts and link an e-mail, Google, Apple or Discord. Sign in with it on your other device: you get the same name, level, items and balance.

On the sign-in page, choose Forgot your password? and enter your e-mail. The link is valid for 1 hour and signs out your other devices. No e-mail? Check your spam folder.

Optional: Settings → Sign-in and security. Each sign-in then asks for an 8-character code sent to your e-mail, valid for 15 minutes.

Settings → Data and account. Export my data downloads everything the game keeps about you. Delete account erases it 30 days after your request; signing in again before then cancels the deletion.

Diamonds and the 30-day pass. Diamonds buy cosmetics (skins, trails, derail effects), gold and the pass. Chests are never sold: they are earned by playing. Everything bought is tied to your account, on every device.

Steam (and later the App Store and Google Play) keeps about 30% of every purchase made in the app, against about 3% for a card payment on the website. A pack bought on Steam therefore gives fewer diamonds for the same price, and the pass costs a little more. The best deal is on the website, play.derailparty.com, with the same account: your diamonds show up everywhere.

They usually arrive within seconds. Open Shop → History: your payment shows there with its status. If it says paid but your balance did not change, contact us with your player ID and the date of the payment.

Purchases made on Steam are refunded by Steam, under Steam's refund policy. For purchases made on the website, contact us. A refunded or disputed payment takes the diamonds back; if they were already spent, the account is put on hold until it is sorted out.

The game needs an Internet connection, even in solo mode. Check your connection, then try again: the Steam app retries by itself every 10 seconds. If it lasts, the servers may be under maintenance for a few minutes.

The latency (ping) shows at the top of the screen during a match; above 150 ms, trains may jump. On a small machine, lower the render resolution or cap the frame rate in Settings → Graphics and effects.

For now, the game runs on a single server in Europe (Paris). From the rest of the world it works, with a higher ping. More regions (America, Asia) will open as players arrive there.

Use Quit game in the lobby, under the Play buttons (or Alt+F4). F11 switches full screen on and off.

In a chat conversation, use Report or Block; you can also block from the friends list. A report keeps the player's latest messages so that we can check. Cheating can be reported by e-mail with the player's name, ID and the time of the match.

Only your friends. Swear words are hidden by default (Hide swear words in the settings).
